Red Light Therapy

Celluma red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light that interact with cells in the body, a process known as photobiomodulation (PBM). Celluma treatments typically use combinations of red light (around 640–660 nm), near-infrared light (around 880 nm), and, blue light for acne treatments.
Acne
On the Celluma Acne setting, the device primarily uses blue light, often combined with red light.

Blue light (around 465 nm): Targets the acne-causing bacteria Cutibacterium acnes. The bacteria naturally contain light-sensitive molecules called porphyrins. When blue light activates these molecules, they produce reactive oxygen species that damage and kills the bacteria.

Red light (around 640 nm): Penetrates deeper into the skin than blue light. It doesn't kill acne bacteria directly. Instead, it helps:
